St. Michael Cemetery: Boston's Affordable Private Cemetery
We are pleased to offer our families the best value and service in the greater Boston area. We thank our families and Funeral Directors for choosing St. Michael Cemetery.
Something New and Exciting
St. Michael Cemetery is proud to announce that construction has begun on our new crematory. We plan an early spring opening in 2010. This will be a new service we will provide to the Boston community.
We are also offering cameo pictures that the cemetery will install on crypt covers in both of our community mausoleums. For information please contact our office at 617-524-1036.
Grave Locations Available
New Graves are available in all four sections of the cemetery including the oldest section located near the Walk Hill Street Gate. Four new rows of graves have just been added to Section BB located in our third cemetery just off Neponset Ave. For information please contact our office at 617-524-1036.
Grave Repairs
New graves will be filled with a top coat of loam and re seeded as needed. We will also repair those graves where re-seeding has been requested. However, new graves that have been repaired will continue to settle for up to 18 months, especially after a heavy rain or snow melt.We will continue to monitor these graves and as the weather permits make the repairs as needed. During the summer months we limit our re seeding and resume again in the fall.
Thank you for your patience!
Christmas Wreaths
We thank those families that participated in our wreath program this year.
Spring Saddles
We will be offering Spring Saddles again this year. Order forms will be mailed to those who are on our mailing list. If you would like to receive an order form please contact our office to be added to the mailing list. Due to Easter arriving early this year the saddles will be installed AFTER Easter during the second week of April.
Children's Memorial
St. Michael Cemetery has a memorial dedicated to all the children interred in the cemetery. Should you wish to visit this memorial it is located in Section 69 opposite the chapel building.
Choices
St. Michael Cemetery offers a number of choices. The first of which is offering families the option of a graveside service or their choice of chapels at no additional fee. As well as these options we are now able to offer families the option of tents and "way" services through their funeral director. We also offer the option of one year no financing with the purchase of pre-need graves as well as the pre-payment of opening fees. There are many burial options available at St Michael cemetery. For information please contact our office at 617-524-1036.
Veteran's Markers
Veteran's Markers may now be installed at St. Michael Cemetery. They may be either flat bronze or granite. They will be placed at the head of the grave in front of the monument base. There is a fee of $100.00 for the installation. Please contact our office for further information.
